Fees

Clients can pay for our services in a number of different ways, depending on the work we are undertaking.

Hourly rate

We can offer advice and assistance on a traditional hourly-rate basis, where in effect you pay for all the time we have spent on your case. We can usually give an approximate idea of how long matters will take.

Fixed-Fee

In the majority of cases we are able and willing to agree a fixed fee at the outset of our instructions, giving you peace of mind and certainty as to your legal fees.

We can represent you at the Employment Tribunal for a fixed-fee. We can either agree a fee to cover all work from issuing the claim through to the Tribunal/settlement, or we can adopt a stage-by-stage process, whereby you pay a small fee for a particular piece of work whilst you retain overall conduct of the matter. Contact us for a quotation today.

No Win-No Fee

We accept Employment Tribunal claims on a “no win-no fee” basis under what is called a damages-based agreement. If you are successful in the Tribunal, or if we agree a settlement out of court, we will take a fixed percentage of the amount you are awarded as payment for our fees. Damages-based agreements are offered subject to the approval of the partners of the Firm, based on the merits of your case.

You should be aware that, regardless of whether you win or lose, you will be responsible for payment of disbursements. Disbursements include items such as travel costs, postage fees and barrister’s fees (although some barristers will accept instructions on a no win-no fee basis). Contact us to discuss whether we can act for you on a no win-no fee basis.

Legal Expense/Insurance Cover

Many insurance policies, for example home insurance cover, provide legal expenses insurance for any employment-related disputes.  Most insurance providers will try to insist that you must use one of their recommended solicitors (known as “panel solicitors”), however the courts have determined that you have the right to choose your own legal representative. Please contact us if you have any queries in respect of funding your case.

If you have an employment matter and would like to discuss or wish to secure information in respect of any of the above payment options, please Contact us on 0800 644 1544 and speak to one of our Employment Solicitors.
